Trans Ili Ala-Too Range
While much of Kazakhstan is known for its vast steppe, the south reveals a striking contrast: the dramatic Trans-Ili Ala-Too and Central Tien Shan ranges. These mountains form some of the wildest and least explored landscapes in Central Asia.
This region is a trekker's paradise of sharp contrasts: deep, pine-forested valleys give way to massive glaciers and high-altitude passes. The landscape is dotted with turquoise jewels like Big Almaty Lake and the mesmerizing Kolsai Lakes, often referred to as the "Pearls of the Northern Tian Shan."
Our expeditions here navigate the rugged trails that weave through this vertical wilderness, connecting remote alpine pastures used by semi-nomadic herders with the silent, icy grandeur of the high peaks.
