The Pamir Mountains
The Great Goat Expeditions Team has spent many months exploring the vast and rugged frontier of Tajikistan, becoming especially captivated by the Pamir Region.
The Pamir is a region unlike any other, both culturally, with its unique Wakhi and Pamiri communities, and geographically, as one of the least explored major mountain ranges on Earth.
Where the high alpine Pamir Plateau meets towering peaks like Ismail Somoni and Peak Lenin, deep, glacier-carved valleys shelter small settlements of the Pamiri people. Tajikistan, and the Pamir Region in particular, truly stand out in every way.
